About me

This is my professional journey.

I was born in Recife, Pernambuco, in the Northeast of Brazil. Between 2019 and 2024, I lived in Lisbon, Portugal, with my wife Ana Luiza and our dog, Chica. Since the start of 2025, I have been back in my hometown, carrying a path shaped by newsrooms, independent projects, editorial products, data, design and technology.

Between Recife and Lisbon

The path crosses two central places: Recife, where I learned journalism in newsrooms and independent projects; and Lisbon, where I strengthened languages, technology and international work.

Starting in Recife

Writing began as a hobby, then slowly became a way to investigate, organize and communicate the world. Before finding communication, I tried other academic paths; when I arrived in journalism, I already carried broad curiosity and a long-standing drive to create content.

When writing became a project

In 2012, Doentes por Futebol turned writing, editing and community into a daily practice. At the same time, experiences in radio, newspapers and digital projects brought me closer to reporting, editing, teamwork and multimedia production.

Journalism as repertoire

During my Journalism degree, I arrived as someone centered on writing, but Recife’s media context demanded versatility. I started working with video, audio, photography, illustration, graphic design and digital storytelling.

Digital publishing

Digital magazines, experiments and product

My fascination with digital magazines became a graduation project, master’s research and a digital publishing company. That period became a lab for thinking about formats, screen sizes, interactivity and reader behavior.

Languages, technology and international context

In Lisbon, I worked in multilingual and international environments. At Fujitsu, I developed a support and user interaction repertoire; at Tech Mahindra, I worked with editorial curation, data analysis, training and quality for Google News and AI tools.

Back home, with another repertoire

Returning to Recife marks a new phase: applying journalism, data, design and technology to projects that explain complex systems, create useful visualizations and turn information into experience.

My passions, interests and hobbies

Personal interests and professional themes often meet. Some are hobbies; others became stories, projects, research or tools.

Today, I look for work where information, context and form move together: visual journalism, editorial products, data visualization, applied research, public communication and technology with human judgment.
