Revista Febre
A multimedia magazine about the dream — and the cost — of making a living from football in Brazil.

Challenge
The pilot issue of Revista Febre, titled “Marcados pela bola”, started from a question that runs through Brazilian football: how wide is the gap between the dream of becoming a professional player and the real conditions faced by those trying to get there? The project told that journey through characters at different stages of their relationship with the sport, from childhood and early development attempts to established careers and life after the pitch.
As a Journalism graduation project at the Catholic University of Pernambuco, the challenge was also formal. Rather than producing only a report or a conventional publication, the aim was to build a multimedia digital magazine capable of bringing together writing, photography, audio, video and graphic design in a single editorial experience.
Solution
The magazine was built as a multimedia narrative centered on human stories. Its characters include young players still pursuing a pathway into professional football, active athletes and experienced figures who help reveal the different stages, expectations and frustrations of that journey. Among the issue's stories are that of 12-year-old Gabriel and an audio conversation with Edu Gaspar.
I carried out most of the project's editorial and multimedia production: reporting, writing, photography and image editing, video and audio production and editing, and the magazine's graphic design. Collaborators contributed specific elements — archival research, cover photography, illustrations and web design — allowing the publication to combine different media while maintaining a coherent editorial identity.
Impact
The result was an experimental digital issue that turned a graduation project into an independent editorial product, combining sports journalism and multimedia storytelling around a social theme rooted in Brazilian football. The project received a strong academic evaluation and remained published as Revista Febre.
In my career, Febre is an important point of origin: as early as 2017, it already brought together journalism, sport, design, photography, video, audio and digital experimentation. Skills that first appeared inside a multimedia magazine would later return in data projects, information products and more complex sports platforms.
My role
I was responsible for photography and image editing, video and audio production and editing, reporting, writing and the graphic design of the pilot issue “Marcados pela bola”. The project also included collaborators responsible for archival research, cover photography, illustrations and web design.
