Canário Quiz

An interactive experience that turns World Cup history into play, discovery and shareable learning.

Canário Quiz interface with questions about World Cup history

Challenge

Canário na Copa already brought together a broad archive of historical information about national teams, World Cups, characters and curiosities. The challenge was to turn part of that repertoire into a short, engaging experience capable of attracting readers not only through information, but also through play, surprise and performance comparison.

To work well, the product had to be simple to use, quick to understand and coherent with Canário's editorial language. At the same time, it needed to incorporate typical elements of interactive products — progression, feedback, results and sharing — without feeling disconnected from the rest of the platform.

Solution

I developed Canário Quiz as a ten-question experience based on the project's historical archive. The interface organizes the challenge into clear steps, showing progress, difficulty level, the current question and navigation controls, so the experience can be completed quickly without losing clarity.

At the end, the product gives users a complete result, including score, “Canário Profile”, percentage scale and options to share or restart the challenge. Rather than simply testing memory, the quiz works as a playful entry point into Canário's editorial universe, encouraging discovery and deeper exploration.

Impact

The result was an interactive editorial product that expands the Canário na Copa ecosystem beyond articles, data and visualizations, showing how an information archive can also become a playful experience. The quiz strengthens engagement, retention and sharing, while creating a new way for the project's historical content to circulate.

In my portfolio, this work matters because it highlights a specific dimension of my practice with digital products: turning information into interaction. It demonstrates product thinking, UX, gamification and development applied to a short but complete and functional experience.

My role

I was responsible for the product concept, experience logic, question-and-result structure and development of the interactive interface. The work involved turning pre-existing editorial content into a navigable, responsive and shareable experience.
