Challenge
48 Minutos began in 2018 as an independent podcast created around the perception that Brazilian basketball coverage lacked a different voice — one rooted in Pernambuco and Brazil's Northeast. After years of production and a hiatus, the project returned in July 2024 with a broader ambition: to grow beyond a podcast and become an editorial platform combining different content formats and services for Brazil's NBA community.
The digital challenge was to build a structure capable of supporting that expansion without losing the project's independent identity. The website needed to work simultaneously as a publication for articles and analysis, an archive for programs, a space for infographics, an entry point for the newsletter and a base for original tools such as Agenda 48 and the Basketball Glossary.
Solution
I designed and developed the new WordPress portal as the digital foundation for this second phase of 48 Minutos. Its architecture organizes articles, programs and other editorial content within a simple navigation structure while giving prominent space to the project's recurring original products.
The solution was conceived as an expandable editorial system: WordPress provides the infrastructure for continuous publishing, while specific pages and tools can operate as their own experiences within the same ecosystem. This structure allowed projects such as Agenda 48 and the Basketball Glossary to coexist with reporting, analysis, infographics and podcast episodes without relying on external platforms as the main point of access.
Impact
The relaunch transformed 48 Minutos from a podcast into a broader editorial ecosystem capable of bringing original content, programs and service tools together under one identity. The website became the infrastructure for experiences that go beyond conventional publishing, including reference products designed specifically for Brazilian basketball audiences.
Within my portfolio, 48 Minutos works as a case of continuity and evolution: it brings together my basketball expertise, editorial experience, web development and information-product work. It also provides the context for more specific projects — such as Agenda 48, the Basketball Glossary and analytical features — which appear individually in the portfolio.
My role
I have been part of 48 Minutos since 2020 as a journalist and contributor. For the 2024 relaunch, I was responsible for the design and development of the WordPress portal, including its editorial architecture, navigation structure and visual implementation. I also produce content and develop original tools within the ecosystem.
